The following pages will mainly consist of Census and Directory entries for the streets of Hay.  I have attempted to match the census entries to the properties concerned but this is far from straightforward, often impossible.  There will be many mistakes and I will be happy to hear from anyone to rectify these.  The streets of Hay have been re-named and  re-numbered at various times. The census enumerators have travelled the streets in either direction or back and forth and side to side. Many houses were sub-divided or sub-let.  Often the houses are not numbered but I have put my suggestions in brackets.
